Sewage Treatment

Sewage Treatment, Sewage Treatment Plants, Sewage Waste Water Treatment, Package Sewage Treatment Plant, Sewage Treatment Systems, SBR Sewage TreatmentAquaPlan has designed, manufactured and installed various reactor type SBR sewage treatment facilities throughout South-Africa.

ADVANTAGES OF THE SBR SYSTEM

Simplicity

  1. Aeration, settling, decanting and sludge wasting all take place in one tank.
  2. The total BOD (suspended and dissolved) is aerated and oxidised.
  3. The plant is simple and very reliable to operate.

Cost effective

  1. The cost of supply and installation compares favourably with other methods of treating sewage.
  2. Supervision time is minimal compared to thru-flow type of plants. Occasional raking of the bar screen and checking the chlorine in the dosing tank is about all that is required.
  3. Depending on the tank geometry and immersion depth of the aerator, oxygen transfer efficiencies of approximately 1,8 kg O2 / kWh can be achieved, which compares very favourably with large conventional installations.

Flexibility

  1. The SBR tank can handle sudden in-rushes of large flows during peak times and by properly timing the discharge step, one can avoid peak flows to happen during the decanting period.
  2. The PLC is programmed to adapt to seasonal loading or periods of low BOD input. Duty cycles can be selected from the panel for anticipated BOD loading.
  3. The minimum and maximum levels can easily be varied by lowering or raising the float switches. This allows the adjustment of the settling and decanting cycles.
  4. The immersion dept of the aerator can be adjusted.
